The SNP Common Weal Group (CWG) has called on the Scottish Government to condemn the European Parliamentary decision to strip the immunity of three Catalan MEPs who are facing charges of sedition in Spain. CWG Convener, Craig Berry said: "The Scottish Government must take this opportunity to show solidarity with the Catalan MEPs who currently face extradition & political persecution for exercising the democratic will of the Catalan people. "Lifting the right to legal immunity is a shameful decision by the European Parliament, and their actions have to be called out for what it is - an attack on democracy. "The Scottish Government must show it's explicit support of the Catalan struggle for independence. The people of Catalonia need the support of the international community, and Scotland must stand in solidarity with the Catalan people."
